Part of the ‘Future Career Conversations’ series, the discussion will explore the growing role of engineering in improving productivity, sustainability, and efficiency in farming practices

SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) and The Hindu will jointly organise a webinar on ‘Agri Tech Revolution: Engineering the Future Farming’, highlighting how rapid technological advancements are reshaping the agriculture sector and creating innovative solutions for modern farming challenges. This is a part of the ‘Future Career Conversations’ series.

With agriculture increasingly adopting smart technologies, the discussion will explore the growing role of engineering in improving productivity, sustainability, and efficiency in farming practices. The key areas of focus will be the role of AI, the Internet of Things and drones in agriculture; climate change and sustainable farming solutions, agri startups and entrepreneurships, government policies and incentives, and emerging career opportunities in agri-engineering.

The panel will feature Leenus Jesu Martin M., Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, SRMIST; Jawaharlal M., Dean, SRM College of Agricultural Sciences; Devinder Dhingra, Principal Scientist (Process Engineering), Indian Council for Agricultural Research, Division of Agricultural Engineering; and Poorna Pushkala, CEO, Samunnati Foundation. The session will be moderated by A.M. Jigeesh, Senior Deputy Editor, The Hindu.
