The Chennai Division identified sharp curves and undertook rail straightening works in Beach-Egmore, Egmore-Villupuram, Central-Arakkonam and Central-Gudur sections. This is part of efforts to improve line capacity and enhance operational flexibility of both suburban and long-distance trains
