Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has requested people to remain vigilant and take necessary precautionary measures in view of the severe heatwave conditions warning issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

With intense heat forecast in the north Telangana region, the Chief Minister has directed the officials concerned to take all measures and ensure availability of adequate ORS packets, supply of drinking water and uninterrupted power supply to residents. The Health department was directed to provide treatment on priority to patients suffering from heat stroke and admit them into hospitals. Local authorities were instructed to set up centres to supply drinking water free of cost in urban areas.

The Chief Minister urged people not to venture out of their houses and avoid travelling during afternoon. He directed Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao to continuously monitor the situation and issue necessary instructions to district collectors to ensure safety of the people.
