The panchayat-level Sahyog Shivir started on Tuesday (May 19, 2026) to resolve people’s grievances. Following the announcement by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, the initiative was launched for the first time across the state.

This practice will continue on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month to ensure time-bound redressal of their problems/grievances. Mr. Choudhary officially launched the initiative by taking part in one of the camps at Dumri Bujurg Panchayat in Saran district. The initiative is part of the state government’s ‘Ease of Living’ under the ambitious ‘Saat Nischay-3’ programme aimed at delivering services at citizens’ doorsteps.

At the launch of the new initiative, Mr. Choudhary said the primary objective of the ‘Sahyog Shivir’ is to resolve people’s grievances quickly and deliver justice. He also pointed out that officials who fail to dispose of applications received during the ‘Sahyog Shivir’ within 30 days will face automatic suspension on the 31st day.

In addition to the already existing grievance redressal programmes held on two working days each week – Monday and Friday, the state government has now decided to organise ‘Sahyog Shivir’ in gram panchayats.

“This initiative serves as a vital mechanism for the swift and effective redressal of people’s problems. The government stands ready to extend every possible assistance to you. Continuous efforts are being undertaken to ensure the prosperity of Bihar and the development of India,”Mr. Choudhary said.

He added, “While Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji is firmly committed to transforming India into a developed nation, and former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Ji aspires to make Bihar prosperous, the path to achieving these objectives will be paved through the ‘Sahyog Shivir’.”

He stated that all applications received at the camps will be processed and resolved without exception. He further said that ten days after an application is received, the Chief Minister’s Secretariat will issue the first notice to the concerned official, the second notice will be issued on the 20th day, and the third on the 25th day, to ensure that all received applications are resolved within the stipulated time frame.

“By the 30th day following the receipt of an application, an order regarding its resolution must be issued under all circumstances. Strict action will be taken against any officials found negligent in performing this duty. If an order is not issued by the 30th day, the concerned officials of the respective department will stand automatically suspended on the 31st day,” Mr. Choudhary said.

The Chief Minister asserted that the government formulates schemes and determines policies solely with the public interest in mind. He added that all ministers and elected representatives will also contribute to resolving people’s grievances by personally attending to facilitate the speedy resolution of issues.

Through the ‘Sahyog Shivir,’ Mr. Choudhary distributed symbolic cheques representing various benefits—including land title deeds, ration cards, and birth certificates—to beneficiaries whose applications had been successfully resolved by the district administration. Additionally, incentive amounts were distributed to beneficiaries of the ‘Chief Minister’s Old Age Pension Scheme’ and the ‘Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural).’

Nodal officers from different departments will hear the complaints received at the camps and provide prompt resolution. If any obstacle arises in the disposal of grievances, the officers will inform the applicants in writing, setting a next date for resolution of the problem, besides providing proper information with regard to the issue.

Issues to be resolved at the camp include matters relating to ration, pension, housing, MGNREGA, land disputes, mutation, demarcation, caste certificates, income certificates, residential certificates, electricity, water, roads, education, and health.
